Designer Floris Hovers created a unique set of wooden animals for the Dutch brand Ikonic Toys. His work is known for its playful and bold style, born from a process of experimenting, observing, and discovering. While he also designs furniture and home accessories, his true passion lies in creating toys.

The collection features 13 wooden animal figures in Hovers’ distinctive style: minimalist forms reduced to their very essence. The animals are simple, elegant, and finished in strong, vibrant colours – a signature of his work.

The set comes in a beautifully designed gift box, making it the perfect design gift for both young and old. The result is a timeless piece of design that invites both play and admiration.

About Floris Hovers

 

Floris Hovers (born 1976) graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven and worked for designer Piet Hein Eek. In addition to chairs, tables, lamps, and interior objects, Hovers designs colourful toy cars, animal figures, and imaginative miniature cities. Part of his work is produced independently. In 2011, he received the Sanoma Woonaward for ‘Young Talent’. His series of miniature vehicles called Arche Toys is included in the permanent collection of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
