Photo of a lion, taken by Paul Kooiker and part of the exhibition Nude Animal Cigar (2014), which was on display from November 2024 till March 2025 at Voorlinden.
This photo series consists of 63 nudes, 63 animals and 63 cigars – each photo has been edited with a different sepia filter. This creates an analogue feel, despite the fact that the photos were taken digitally.
Nude Animal Cigar (2014) marked a turning point in Kooiker's oeuvre and introduced a new form of playfulness that is still characteristic of his work today.
